Kichanga Lodge

Kichanga Lodge is a small intimate resort with a private beach and beautiful charming cottages set within rich tropical gardens. In perfect harmony with the natural environment, Kichanga Lodge is an unforgettable place for those who love nature & are looking for a quieter secluded Lodge to really get away from it all.

Kichanga is located 65km from Stone Town and the airport on the south eastern side of Zanzibar. It takes about 1 hour drive by car to get to the Lodge from the kisauni airport.

It is built on the fringe of the beautiful private beach and surrounded by wonderful tropical gardens, all of the bungalows are in pure African style, with wooden verandas and Makuti thatch roofs.

Regular bungalows have king size bedrooms, dressing room and a bathroom with shower.

Villas have wider verandahs with wonderful views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to the beach. With a second bedroom on the mezzanine, Kichanga’s villas are perfect for families.

The VIP Suite combines the charm of purest African style to a breathless view for an unforgettable romantic holiday.

All of the rooms are tastefully furnished with African and Zanzibari art crafts, mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Safes, mini bars & hair-dryers are available on request at reception. Some of the bungalows have inter-connecting veranda doors which are suitable for families.

The restaurant has uninterrupted views over the beach and ocean as it sits under a huge thatched Makuti roof without walls. Local dishes (especially fish) are served as well as International and Italian cuisine.
