Kwihala Camp is located in the northern part of the park, near the Mwagusi sand river, on the edge of the Escarpment in a beautiful and game rich area. It is a 45 minute drive from the airstrip and headquarters at Msembe. On arrival at Msembe one of Kwihala’s vehicles and guides will be waiting to start your adventure with you. The drive to the camp is usually 45 minutes but as you will be game driving on the way a good sighting could mean that this journey takes slightly longer.
NUMBER OF ROOMS & DESCRIPTION:
Kwihala Camp has only 6 tents, which are large and airy. The tents are furnished with practical furniture and each have an ensuite bathroom with a flushing chemical toilet and a bucket shower which the staff replenishes with warm water from an outside tank. Each tent has a covered veranda area that is mosquito proof.
RESTAURANTS & BAR:
The main lounge and dining area is set in an open sided tent, allowing you to see the outside area whilst you eat. The food is tasty and plentiful at Kwihala. Breakfast is a choice between fresh fruit, pancakes and cooked food, whilst lunch consists of salad, sandwiches and fruit. Dinner is a 3 course meal and can be eaten either in the dining tent or under the stars.The lounge area is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs and lots of cream colored canvas. The Kwihala signature baobab design is everywhere, from the bed linen to the pottery plant stands in the lounge area.
